Melanie & John Brady - Toxic Tenants

Do not rent to Melanie & John Brady of Manchester, New Hampshire.
They will make every attempt to harass the landlord and attempt to extort money from her/him.

M. Brady will call the landlord constantly and frequently in the middle of the night.
They will attempt to drive away the other tenants in the building with their threats and showing their firearms.
Melanie Brady calls herself a “paralegal” and is training herself in this craft by filing petitions against other tenants and whoever their current landlord is.  It doesn’t matter if the landlord has done nothing wrong.  They will just make something up.
They will lie so convincingly that it seems that they actually believe their own lies.  Do a criminal background check on these people.  Use caution.

Peek a boo

It was fine when we moved in the house was a very nice tri level home.  The first experience with the landlord was he came over unannounced to see if we were moving. Okay, so my mother was there with our 3 boys. She opened the door and he pushes her out the way to get in the house claiming he needs an electrical cord out the garage.  About a week later he comes back this time walking behind the house which he stated there were keys to the lock to the side fence but the fence was not locked. Looking in the back windows.  The back of the house consisted of 2 sliding glass doors. Now, my mother watched my kids while my husband and I worked.  She seen his reflection in the TV and turned around and screamed.  So he left.  My husband comes home and calls Mr. Ford and says he has to give him a call if he is going to be lurking all around the house.  Ford stated it’s his house he doesn’t have to call anyone to inform them he is going to be around his property. The house had so many minor issues if he would have just fixed it right we would have never have called him for anything. Winter came and we noticed there is no heat on the main floor where the living rm and kitchen is, It would be freezing. He claims there is nothing wrong with the heat it was like that when he lived there.  We were not aloud to use the living rm or the dining rm.  Since they were both formal and had white carpet. I video taped him everytime he came to do a walk thru or for whatever reason.  In the state of washington supposedly those tapes are useless.  Needless to say he kept half of our $1000 deposit claiming we did not clean on the side of the fridge before moving out.  But it took me and my husband 3 days to clean the house when we got it.  The house was spotless when we handed over the keys.  The day after we moved out, him and his wife moved back in. If the house was in such bad condition when we left why did they move in the very next day?

Deadbeat Reverend/Pastor Mackey and His wife Brenda

Remained on the premises for 8 (maybe 9 - they have not bothered to move yet) without making full payments. They made 5 partial payments. 2 were made in August 2008. They spent the months of September, October, and November in the house without paying. They had the audacity to host Thanksgiving Dinner at the residence for family and friends without paying their landlord. The rest of the payments were made after I took them to court and the last partial payment was court enforced or they faced an immediate eviction. Their story is Arthur (Brenda’s Husband) is the only one that supposedly works and states he had two jobs. He’s some type of pastor and claims the church stopped paying, laid him off or maybe he was fired, who gives? Anyway, they also claimed that he had two strokes, car accidents and needed therapy which is why he did not pay. They told me about one of the strokes over the summer but the rest of that story didn’t come out until we went to court and went crying to the judge. In my opinion, it is probably not true.  They made at least two repayment deals with me that they did not uphold. After I went court and got the judgment, I offered to work out the matter quietly and confidentially with them. I even offered not to go after them for the remaining months on the lease if they vacated the premises before the start of a new month. They said they could not do that and offered to pay one months rent in full. It was another partial payment at which point I moved to evict them. They got an order to show cause and convinced the judge to let them stay for another 30 days after remaining on the premises 60+ days pass the date of the warrant eviction. They write bad checks. He has a modest income and supports four people on a net bi-weekly income that is probably not enough to cover rent for a basement or one bedroom apartment in Nassau County, New York. They are SLOVENLY!!!!!!!! Brenda is a housewife and whatever she does when her kids at school and husband goes to work - I can tell for sure it is not cleaning. The house stinks like garbage. Pretty sure the house is infested. There is everything you can imagine all over the house. They rented out a 3 story, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, EIK, Full Dining Room, Living room with fireplace, Sunporch, and walk up attic. I have never seen that house clean during their 2 year + tenure at the house. They enjoy using their 3 minor children to elicit sympathy from landlords, legal authorities or anyone who will buy their song and dance.  They LIE!!!! They are prone to name calling when confronted or when you ask them for the money they contracted to pay.
