do not rent to Shawnna and Connelly

Rented an apartment in Clifton New Jersey to two adults with two kids starting December2008..One week later her mother moves in along with her 30 something brother.Lease was specific and stated 2 adults 2 children.Three months later no rent not a penny since they moved in.In the int rem she bought a car.LOL(I have to laugh).
Police are here at least twice a week, between their fighting amongst themselves, and my need to call over the drinking binges and loud parties.
Eviction is in progress, but still have time to go.They also have a cat which is again against lease policy.Ma bey they can’t read.I’m not sure at this point.
Yesterday they stuffed tampons in the toilet and caused the bowl to overflow for hours, damaging the ceiling below them and the walls.
I would so love to see these people living on the street so they learn how to respect someones property and learn what its like not to have a warm place to live.
I am also concerned about the next person that all owes them to rent in their home, financially and emotionally it is draining. There should be a law on the books to prosecute people like this .They are common thieves after all.

unfair

my husband and I moved in to a three bedroom apartment with our two children and our newborn 2 month old baby.  It was a beautiful apartment but it came with a price other than the rent. we chose this apartment not knowing the nabior below us worked graveyards and slept durning the day, well offcourse 2 weeks after we moved in we recieved a complaint against us for our children being to loud.  now our children were toddlers Im sure you could imagine how this started off as perfect situation.  The land lord had asked us to move into another apartment and we kindly agreed to move from one thrird story appartment across the street to another third story appartment. Yes real generous on our part to agree to this.  But to our surprise after we agreed to this the land lord had offered the appartment to another couple two days after we decided to move into this other apartment.  They had no other appartment to offer us and as the months went on the landlord finally decided to try and evict us.  the owners of the property came over to our home telling us we need to move we kindly declined and told them unless they let us out of our lease in witch we will be requiring this agreement in writing we will not be leaving any time soon.  below are a few things we have had to deal with while living there.

1. Harrasment
the owners of the property kept telling us to move with out a notice to vacate, calling social services on us claiming our child fell three storys down, calling a community college on us about getting a daycare license at this time I was watching my nephew, colorado law dose not require me to have a daycare license if I am related to the child.
2. Invasion of privacy
on three seperate occasions the live in land lord entered our appartment first incident was two days after we moved in he said he was there to turn off the power so he dose not get billed for it. The eletric company informed us he could have just sent us the bill.  The other incident with out notice I walked into my front room to see two men standing there the landlord informed me that there was a leak downstairs and that he needed to take a look in the bathroom to see if it was coming from my apartment.  And last while the owners were trying to find a way to leagally evicted us the older lady walked into our apartment exclaiming she needed to take pictures of the bathroom for insurance reasons insteasd she started walking around the apartment taking pictures.
3. discrimination
I am not going to say the deckers the owners of this property do not like kids but Im am sure they did not like our kids it was more of a favortism the lady below us had senority she had lived there for years and with our three kids who were toddlers at the time and her who worked graveyards and slept durning the day Im sure it was time that somebody had to go and it was us.  you can imagine that children are not quiet all the time and during the day they are usually most active no matter what I did to keep them quiet it was just not enough to keep the old lady who lived downstairs mouth shut

Slumlord in Walden NY

Well i’ve been living in a 3 bedroom apartment in Walden NY since last summer. I’m being charged $825.00 for rent every month, when my roof has a HUGE hole in it, the windows in my computer room leak and have gotten into my computer, the heat didn’t work for a month and hasn’t ever really worked right. I have outlets hanging out of the wall almost completely in my 3 year old son’s bedroom, the neighbors are drunks and make noise ALL night long, it’s been nothing but problems since I moved into this place and the landlord seems to not give a care about anything I make complaints about.

Keithleys

Rented a house from these two April 1 2007.  He makes many promises and comes off as a kind Christian man.  December my pipes froze and I unthawed them after waiting for him.  When he did come by he said that he wrapped the pipes so they wouldn’t freeze again.  The firs week of January a man knocked on my door.  I happen to be off from work recouperating from a procedure on my back.  This man asked if Michael Keithley was home.  Told him I didn’t know a Michael, but my landlords were Cheryle and Dennis Keithley.  He scratched his head and then said, well mam, were you aware that this home had been foreclosed on???? WTF???? I cried for days and was given 3 weeks to move.  So… a year and two months later me and my 2 daughters are still staying with my mother.  Every time I find a home to rent, I get an uneasy feeling.  I don’t trust anyone.

I’ve sent letter after letter to these people trying to get my deposit back with no response… oh let me back up.  When I first had to move I spoke with Dennis and he said I’d have the money in a week, and you guessed it… it never came.  I’ve sent letter after letter and threaten with a law-suit but he will not pay up.  I guess he thinks this is a joke but it’s not… I will be going foreword with my suit.  Also I learned that he and his wife were part of a large suit against appaisers and brokers.  So BE WARE OF THE KEITHLETS!!!
