Poor Management (171)

STRADfORD fLATS, Minneapolis, Minnesota.  They also own a lot more properties.  Do not know if they have pulled this stuff at the rest.

#1 The poor management started shortly after i moved in. I checked on my application that i wanted to be notified if anyone ever had to enter my apartment.  This has never been done. I have never received a phone call.  They just walk right on in and do there thing while usually I’m at work.  I’ve come home to find that my bathroom was flooded twice from a clogged toilet upstairs and to see that someone was in my house to clean it up and no phone call or note.  Did see that they had taken things out of my bathroom and used some of my toilet paper to clean it up and left it in my garbage can. Oh goody.  #2 I had received bed bugs from god knows who in this god forsaken building. I looked up the regulations on that and it said that they legally had to take care of my problem in two weeks tops.  Well it took me two weeks of angry messages until finally getting a hold of someone and then they sent out an exterminator which within those two weeks i had to do the job myself because I’m allergic.  When he finally did come...no phone call of course just a knock on my door..they did have the courtesy to leave a note under my door.  But he did his thing and told me he would come back the next week for a second treatment...series of treatments is what it takes so i’ve heard. He never came back nor was a phone call ever made to follow up with me on how the situation was.  I still have them by the way.  Yippy.  My guess is it saved them a pretty penny by only having him come by once.  #3 I started my lease agreement in April for 6 months.  Never once have i renewed my lease or have they let me know that it was up.  And they decided to raise my rent twice now not knowing where the lease starts or ends.  I’m guessing they make it up as they go.  They gave me a letter thrown in front of my door the first time and the second time i never received anything.  Knowing that i didn’t major in telepathy i paid the normal amount only to recieve a letter saying that i didn’t pay my rent in full and that now i owe 200$!!! My rent was only 20$ short.  I must have been trying to make one hell of a statement by knowing my rent had been raised and not paying the 20$.  They also said in the letter that if i didn’t pay by a certain date...action was going to be taken in accessing my apartment back. I have never been late on payment for rent nor have i ever been loud or received a noise complaint.  I am what you would call the perfect neighbor.  But yet this is what i receive in return from my property.  #4 NOISE! When i first moved in i had children who lived above me and a single mom downstairs. Both which loved to bump their music like they wanted to be the next Hustle & flow.  I would call the cops and have the come out to my apt at the least twice a week.  They started coming out sooooo often that they were working with me to get these people evicted.  They told me they could hear the base from they’re car in the parking lot..not only hear it but feel.  Sure did a # on me being connected to the same wall.  Sometimes they would play their music at the same time driving me insane.  I once had to knock on the door of someone who was having a party at 2 in the morning.  I was laughed at....then called the cops...they came....and when they left. They continued.  Which i then called again.  And then they just went to party somewhere else i presume.  I had left numerous messages with my building.  Buidling security.  Calling my 24 on call security.  Leaving messages with higher ranking management.  NOTHING finally i ended up writing very angry letters to these 2 tenants saying that i will not stop until they’re evicted.  It finally stopped, but not because my building took action because i spent about 5 months trying to evict them. And lived like that for all those months.  #5 After that horrific note about my rent not being paid in full.  I called the office right away.  LEft a message.  two days later called again.  Then i called my building security when it hit the week mark to track down the person who managed the building.  They said they emailed him my info.  four days later nothing.  I called again left messages...2 days later again! Now today Jan/21/2010 it has hit the two week mark five days after they said they’d take my apartment from me if they didn’t see 200$ and nothing.  No one has yet contacted me on anything.  I am furious and i know that this cannot be legal..  I want to take legal action against this building and the time i’ve spent out of my busy life doing they’re job. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. THIS IS NOT OK!!

WARNING BAD TENANTS (170)

Me and my husband rented to these 2 sisters w/children,from there apperance and a referance of a mrs.johnson(gois) we went ahead and let them move in t.....it was all good until 3rd mon.,thats when rent was late and then every excuse in the book followed.....for your sake ........dont rent to them....i finally got them to go ......neigbors finally at ease....lots of illegal complaints i got from neighbors about them and children.....OUR house was left w/holes in 2 bedrooms ,everydoor had holes 1 or more,urine in livingroom carpet and masteroom,house had roaches and nasty inside,garbage left to hall off,stuff stuffed down toilet(WASHCLOTHES) borke washer and dryer,window treatments(NEW)when the moved in,new carpet in backroom was shredded???????some of as done intentionaly do to notices of vacancy...........i feel really decieved buy these 2 girls........ANGIE LOSSEE and MINDY LOSSEE

Deadbeat landlord Ann Joye Catazella (169)

Landlord AnnJoyce Catazella

After disagreeing to the Landlords request to enter my apartment at any time she wanted to and only being allowed to open my windows when she wanted me to, she evicted me since it was a month to month lease. Having proof of paying my rent each month only made her look worse in court. Ann Joyce Catazella of Mount Vernon, NY is not a landlord you will want to live with unless you do no want any privacy and do not mind having your windows controllled by your landlord. I have never in my witnessed such odd and illegal requirements requested by a landlord.  Recordings of phone conversations of Annjoyce with the other involved party aware of the recordings, video surveillance of landlord in apartment and payment proof kept on file

John East (168)

I rented my upper unit on West 37th Street in Cleveland, OH to John East and his three children.  I was promised rent and security when he
processed a back disability check from Social Security for $19,000.00.  I was never paid and had to go through the process of evicting him.  I won
a judgment for $3,234.00 for unpaid rent, damages and theft of utilities from Cleveland Municipal Court, Raymond L. Pianka, Judge.  Case No:
2008 CVG 026059 Entry Journalized on 9/17/09.  This person is a Landlord’s nightmare!!
