So yeah the water for these apartments is all under 1 meter so the landlord pays the water and the bill is in his name. He is refusing to pay it now and allowing it to be shut off on April 1st 2010. What can be done here?

I have been a tenant for almost 6 months and have never seen such an unethical landlord as her. She demanded to pay rent yet she never handles our ongoing roach problem since the time me and my husband moved here, our AC which never works, and the intercom system which hasn’t been set up yet. She called my husband at work yesterday to ask him when he was going to pay rent next month. It is the 27th of March. She maintains the building dirtier than ever. Leaves inside the pool, laundry room has trash on the floor, BBQ pits don’t work, and the jacuzzi has God knows what in there but it looks filthy! There are shopping carts from the supermarket stashed near the elevator and tenants use them all the time. I can hear them.She also discounts the deposit upon moving out if she finds a dirty spot in the apartment. DO NOTEVEN DARE GO HERE! ME and my husband are moving out ASAP without even bothering to fulfill the 1 year lease.In addition she didn’t give us the apartment when we moved in in a good condition. The blinds were used and dirty, there were cracks on the window, and the closet had a linoleum piece missing.

A woman who came searching in desparate need of an apartment. I informed her that I only had a Jr. 1 bedroom and, didn’t take children AND SHE LIED and said she didn’t have any. 1-Month later here comes the boyfriend and a 6 years old. A month or so after that here comes a newborn baby. She concealed the pregnancy in order to get me to approve her moving into the apartment but the apartment is for a single person not a family. She called me non-stopped all hours of the night with frivolous complaints. The water took too long to get hot, she heard a noise, etc., etc., etc. She never paid rent in full or on-time and 5 months into the lease she STOPPED paying all together. We are on going into month number 5 with no rent being paid. She shops non-stops, takes taxi’s everywhere, tells me she’s not paying rent anymore and smirks as the New York City Housing Court system allows her to live in my building RENT FREE. RUN FOR THE HILLS IF YOU SEE HER (SANAYA CATTHOUSE) COMING YOUR WAY. I WOULDN’T WISH THIS PERSON, HER COHORT OR HER OFFSPRING ON MY WORST ENEMY.

GOES BY DEB/DEBBIE/DEBORAH. MIDDLE INITIAL IS J. SON IS BRIAN SUITS JR. A MONTH AND A HALF INTO LEASE, WOMAN DECIDES SHE “DOESN’T THINK IT WILL WORK OUT” AND UP AND MOVES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. WE GET A CALL FROM A NEIGHBOR TELLING US OUR TENANT WAS SEEN PACKING UP. TENANT WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE, WILL NOT EXPLAIN SELF, SON VERBALLY ATTACKED MY FATHER WHEN ASKED WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS GOING ON. SHE THEN SENT LETTER STATING THAT LEAVING WAS “BEST FOR BOTH OF US”. HOW IS HAVING A TENANT MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR BEST FOR ME??? I COULD SEE WANTING TO GET OUT IF WE WERE SOME SORT OF SLUM LORDS, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. DID NOT GIVE 30 DAYS, DID NOT PAY FOR DAMAGES. HER BEST COMPLAINT WAS THAT WE DIDN’T FIX A “SOFT SPOT” IN THE FLOOR FAST ENOUGH. THIS IS CLEARLY A SELFISH INDIVIDUAL WITH SELFISH INTENTIONS AND NO APPRECIATION FOR PUTTING HER SIGNATURE ON THE DOTTED LINE. SHE WILL GAIN AN APPRECIATION WHEN I TAKE HER TO COURT NEXT MONTH!!!! THIS WOMAN ABANDONED THE LEASE, ABANDONED THE PROPERTY, AND HAS NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE LAW, THINKS SHE CAN JUST UP AND LEAVE ON A WHIM WITH NO EXPLAINATION. DO NOT RENT TO THIS PERSON!
